The igus ReBeL is a low-cost, injection-molded-plastic collaborative robot arm built around igus's self-lubricating motion-plastic bearings and strain-wave gears, sold in 4, 5, or 6-axis configurations. This 5-axis variant carries a 2.5 kg maximum payload at a 617 mm maximum reach (400 mm nominal reach), weighs 7.2 kg, and repeats to ±1 mm. The open-source configuration ships as a bare arm without a controller, power supply, or software -- the buyer integrates their own control electronics, which suits ROS/custom-driver integrations. igus markets the ReBeL as the lightest cobot on the market, rated IP42 and tested to ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative operation.
