The WidowX AI is Trossen Robotics' 6-DoF articulated manipulator that powers its Trossen AI (ALOHA-successor) imitation-learning platforms, shipping as both the leader (teleoperation) and follower (task-execution) arm. It offers ~769 mm reach, a 1.5 kg payload, and 1 mm repeatability, is driven over Ethernet by the iNerve controller, and integrates natively with LeRobot, Hugging Face, ROS 2, MuJoCo, Isaac and the Trossen Data Collection SDK.

Overview

The WidowX AI is Trossen Robotics' most advanced research manipulator, designed for embodied-AI and imitation-learning workflows. It is the arm used on all four Trossen AI platforms (ALOHA V2-compatible), functioning as both the leader arm for teleoperation and the follower arm for task execution. Sold in Base, Leader (ambidextrous pincher) and Follower (precision gripper + Intel RealSense D405 camera) configurations, it is a 6-degree-of-freedom arm with roughly 769 mm reach and a 1.5 kg payload, controlled over Ethernet by Trossen's iNerve controller. Its predecessor in this role was the Interbotix WidowX 250 S (6-DoF, ~650 mm reach, 250 g working payload). Software support spans LeRobot, Hugging Face, ROS 2, MuJoCo, Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac and the Trossen Data Collection SDK.
