Overview

TALOS is PAL Robotics' high-performance, fully-electric humanoid built as a research platform. It stands 1.75 m, weighs 95 kg, and has 32 degrees of freedom with torque sensors in every joint, enabling torque-controlled, dynamic whole-body motion. It carries 6 kg per arm fully extended, communicates over EtherCAT with a 2 kHz control loop, and has comprehensive ROS/ROS2 support. The first unit was named Pyrène. It targets industrial research such as heavy tool handling and dynamic locomotion.
