Phoenix is Sanctuary AI's general-purpose humanoid, designed around industry-leading dexterous manipulation. It stands 1.70 m, weighs 70 kg and carries up to 25 kg. Its proprietary hydraulic hands offer roughly 20 degrees of freedom each and sense pressure down to 5 millinewtons — using miniaturized hydraulic valves rather than electric finger motors. Phoenix is controlled by Carbon, Sanctuary's cognitive AI platform, and can be directly piloted, run with pilot-assist, or operate autonomously under supervision. Early generations were bipedal (walking ~1.34 m/s); the latest 8th generation adopts a wheeled base, which Sanctuary says better supports a strong torso for useful work.
