OpenArm 2 is a fully open-source bimanual manipulation platform: two 7-DoF quasi-direct-drive arms (Enactic's own DAMIAO-motor design) built for bilateral force-feedback leader-follower teleoperation and imitation-learning data collection. Each gripper has a built-in RGB camera; the fixed/benchtop system integrates with ROS 2 / MoveIt2 / Isaac Lab and is listed as a supported LeRobot robot. Sold factory-assembled by WowRobo (from ~$6,000) and by RT Corporation (by quotation).

~ $6,500estimate

Representative price for a complete assembled bimanual system from reseller WowRobo (~$6,000–$7,300 depending on config/ordering; RT Corporation is quotation-only).

Overview

OpenArm 2 is an open-source, human-scale bimanual arm platform designed by Enactic (Japan) for physical-AI research, teleoperation, and imitation learning. A complete system pairs two 7-DoF follower arms driven by DAMIAO quasi-direct-drive (backdrivable) motors over 1 kHz CAN-FD control, with a 2-finger gripper carrying an integrated RGB camera on each arm. Bilateral force-feedback leader-follower teleoperation is supported via separate OpenArm KER leader arms (sold separately) and through LeRobot's bi_openarm_leader/follower drivers. Software support spans ROS 2, MoveIt2, and NVIDIA Isaac Lab, with hardware released under CERN-OHL-S and software under Apache-2.0. The platform is fixed/benchtop (clamped to a surface) with no mobile base. Factory-assembled units are sold by WowRobo and RT Corporation.
