The DG-5F-S is the compact, lightweight member of the DG-5F line: an adult-hand-sized five-finger hand with 20 degrees of freedom in an 880 g package, sized so that mass and volume stop being the blocker when integrating a dexterous hand onto a humanoid platform. Each of the 20 joints is independently actuated through high-precision integrated actuation that minimises backlash, supporting dexterous grasping, in-hand manipulation, tool use, unstructured object handling and precision assembly. Tesollo prices it at roughly 60% of the DG-5F-M, positioning it for research labs, startups and smaller teams. Control is over Modbus TCP or raw Ethernet at a 500 Hz control cycle; ROS 2 packages covering URDF, ros2_control, MoveIt 2 and Gazebo are published for Humble, Jazzy and Lyrical, and the same repository also supports the optional 15-DoF configuration.
