The MLD 500 is the Type 4 (higher safety category) line of Leuze's multiple light beam safety devices, sharing the discrete-beam access-grid architecture of the MLD 300 but built to EN ISO 13849-1 Category 4 / PLe. As separate transmitter/receiver systems (not the shorter-range transceiver variant) the MLD 500 reaches up to 70 m, making it suited to large perimeter openings, dock doors and long guarded aisles where a continuous light curtain would be impractical. This artifact is the standard function class (MLD520) 2-beam / 500 mm spacing configuration, with no integrated muting (the MLD530/535 extended tiers add muting - not modeled here). Rated Type 4 / Category 4 / PLe / SIL3, IP67, M12 8-pin connector, aluminum housing.
