Eclipse Zenoh (Zero Network Overhead) is a data-centric communication protocol developed by ZettaScale Technologies under the Eclipse Foundation. It unifies publish/subscribe, distributed queries and storage in one protocol with minimal wire overhead, and routes across peer-to-peer, brokered and mesh topologies — including over WiFi/5G links where DDS discovery struggles. In the ROS 2 world it powers rmw_zenoh, a supported RMW alternative to DDS, and zenoh-bridge-ros2dds for robot-to-cloud and multi-robot bridging. zenoh-pico brings the protocol to microcontrollers (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
