NVIDIA Isaac Sim is a reference robotics-simulation application built on the Omniverse platform and OpenUSD. It combines PhysX 5 rigid/deformable physics, RTX ray-traced sensor models (cameras, LiDAR, radar) that close the perception sim-to-real gap, and Replicator for domain-randomized synthetic data generation at scale. ROS 2 bridges, cuRobo/cuMotion integration, and Isaac Lab (robot learning) make it the center of NVIDIA's robotics stack for digital twins, AMR fleet simulation and manipulation development. The application source is Apache-2.0 on GitHub since 2025; building/running pulls NVIDIA Omniverse components (Kit SDK, assets) under separate NVIDIA license terms, and an RTX-class GPU is required.
