MVTec HALCON is the industry-standard commercial machine-vision software used across electronics, automotive, pharma and logistics production lines. It combines exceptionally robust rule-based methods — shape-based matching, sub-pixel metrology, code reading (Data Matrix on curved surfaces since 26.05), OCR — with integrated deep learning: object detection, classification, semantic segmentation, and Deep-Learning-based anomaly detection for defect inspection with few training images. HALCON supports full 3D vision (stereo, sheet-of-light, ToF, surface-based 3D matching), hand-eye calibration for robot guidance, and runs from Windows/Linux PCs down to embedded ARM platforms. Development happens in the HDevelop IDE (HDevelopEVO preview) with export to C++, C#, .NET and Python.
