The Kinova Gen3 is an ultra-lightweight robot arm built for robotics research and professional applications, with a carbon-fiber and aluminum shell and torque-sensing actuators on every joint. The 6-DoF spherical-wrist configuration reaches 891 mm with a 7.2 kg total weight (with vision module). It runs on the Kinova Kortex software stack, exposing high-level and low-level (1 kHz) control over Ethernet via C++, Python and MATLAB APIs, with official ROS 2 Humble and ROS Noetic support. An optional interface-module-mounted vision module (Omnivision color sensor + Intel RealSense D410 depth sensor) enables vision-based manipulation research.
