The RMHZ2 packages SMC's parallel-jaw air gripper mechanism as a self-contained, cobot-ready tool: 2 built-in solenoid valves route a single air supply to open and close the fingers, 2 built-in auto switches report finger open/close position, and an M8 8-pin connector carries both 24 VDC power and I/O -- so the whole unit needs only one air line and one cable to run, versus wiring a separate valve and switches for a bare industrial gripper. A dedicated main plate (offered in 3 tool-changer styles: manual clamp, one-push, or pneumatic auto tool-change) and a robot-specific connector cable adapt it to 13 collaborative-robot brands without changing the gripper's own mechanical specs, which stay fixed across every robot fitment -- only the mounting hardware, cable pinout and switch polarity vary by robot.
