The MHT2 toggle-type air gripper uses a lever/toggle linkage instead of a rack-and-pinion or linear-guide mechanism: as the double-acting cylinder closes, it drives the fingers through a toggle joint that goes over-center, so the gripper keeps holding a heavy workpiece even if supply pressure drops or is cut off. Offered in 4 bore sizes (32, 40, 50, 63mm) sharing the same construction, each mountable vertically, axially, or laterally, with auto switches attachable on 4 body surfaces via the internal SMC CDQ2 compact cylinder.
