The deTem Core is SICK's multiple-light-beam safety device for long-range access guarding (aisles, danger-zone perimeters) rather than continuous curtain protection — a discrete grid of 2, 3 or 4 beams instead of a resolution-graded curtain. This deTem2 Core receiver (2 beams, 500 mm beam separation) is the Type 2 tier — a lower safety class for applications where Category 2 / PLc / SIL 1 is sufficient (e.g. non-final protective means, or combined with other measures): IP65/IP67, Flexi Loop-compatible M12 5-pin connection, 20 ms response time, no-configuration setup. Same physical geometry and connection as the deTem4 Core Type 4 tier — the safety electronics/category is the differentiator.
