The SLC/SLG 440 is Schmersal's compact (28mm x 33mm cross-section), one-piece extruded-housing safety light curtain platform — no external controller or programming software required, with an integrated set-up tool and 7-segment status display. Rated Type 4 / Category 4 / PLe / SIL3 per IEC 61496-1 / EN ISO 13849-1, IP66/IP67. Supports fixed and floating object blanking (including a movable-edge blanking region), beam coding, EDM contactor-control monitoring, and a double-reset function for large partially-visible hazard areas. The AS-i variant integrates AS-Interface Safety-Slave communication directly into the curtain, eliminating separate safety-relay wiring. The SLG 440 is the discrete multi-beam grid form factor of the same platform, for monitoring access to hazardous areas (not point-of-operation finger/hand protection) — sold in 2, 3 and 4-beam configurations with fixed beam spacing rather than a continuous graded resolution.
