The SF4D is Panasonic's compact, twist/bend/shock-resistant safety light curtain platform, dimensionally compatible with the older SF4B<V2> series but with a reinforced case structure. Every model is Type 4 / PLe / Category 4 / SIL3, IP67/IP65 (NEMA Type 13), with a dead-zoneless design that keeps beam pitch constant even in L- or U-shaped layouts. Sensing range is switchable between a short mode and a long mode by DIP switch. Both PNP and NPN transistor outputs are supported from one unit (selected by wiring), and up to 5 units can be series-connected for up to 256 beams total. Configuration (muting, override, fixed/floating blanking, beam-channel monitoring) is via the Configurator Light Curtain PC software or the optional SF4D-TM1 communication unit. This hand-protection SKU ships with 32 beams over a 630 mm protected height (the 25mm tier spans 150-1910 mm).
