The 30 mm resolution tier of the MLC 500 is the hand-detection member of Leuze's Type 4 safety light curtain platform, in the same 29 x 35.4 mm aluminum profile as the rest of the range. This artifact represents the 'extended' function class (MLC530) which adds fixed/floating blanking and muting to the base transmission-channel-changeover functions of the base/standard tiers. Operating range extends to 10 m at this resolution, roughly double the 14 mm tier's 6 m. Rated Type 4 / Category 4 / PLe / SIL3 / SILCL3, IP65, M12 connectors (5-pin transmitter, 8-pin receiver).
