The PSEN op4B/1 is Pilz's multi-beam safety light barrier (safety light grid) for coarse body-protection/access guarding — a genuinely different product from the dense-beam PSENopt finger/hand/body curtains: instead of a continuous beam grid at a fixed pitch, it uses just 2-4 widely spaced discrete beams across the protected height, sized for whole-body intrusion detection rather than limb/finger resolution. The op4B-2-050/1 is the smallest, 2-beam tier: 515 mm protected field height and 515 mm resolution (the object size guaranteed detectable given the beam spacing), 0.5-50 m operating range. Type 4 per EN/IEC 61496-1/-2, PL e / Cat.4 / SIL CL3 per EN ISO 13849-1, SIL 3 per IEC 61508. Receiver carries an 8-pin M12 main connector (TEST/RESET, supply, 2 OSSD safety outputs, EDM, 2 muting-override inputs) plus a 5-pin M12 connector for optionally wiring external muting sensors; transmitter carries a 4-pin M12 supply connector plus a 5-pin M12 muting-sensor-supply pass-through. This base model has no integrated muting sensors (Pilz also sells op4B-L/-T variants with pre-assembled muting sensors on the housing).
