Overview

The NEURA MAiRA L is a seven-degree-of-freedom cognitive collaborative robot, designed and engineered in Germany. It carries 9 kg across its full workspace (up to 11 kg in an application-specific smaller workspace at reduced speed) over a 1600 mm reach, weighs 56 kg and holds ≥0.01 mm accuracy per ISO 9283. What separates MAiRA from a conventional cobot is that its perception stack is inside the arm rather than bolted on: a 3D vision sensor, a 3D voice-recognition sensor with speaker, an optional 6-DoF force/torque sensor in the flange, and dual encoders on every axis. NEURA layers a machine-learning kernel over the real-time NR-Motion Master controller for smart applications, gesture and voice control, dynamic path and force recording, face recognition and motion tracking, with 3D CAD and live vision data for environment visualisation. The arm is IP65-rated, mountable in any orientation, and carries an RGB status LED on each axis. The tool flange is a DIN ISO 9409-1-50-7-M6 pattern with an M8 8-pin A-coded I/O connector (24 V, 1.5 A; analog input, GPIO and Modbus RTU) and optional 3 mm push-pull compressed-air ports. The 592 × 567 × 253 mm, 25 kg control box runs on 100–240 V and exposes GPIO and Modbus TCP; safety uses a safety master with FSoE communication. Robot and sensor data are reachable from the Python NeuraPy API, with optional access to low-level controllers and raw sensor data.
