Short-range stereo RGB-D camera built for close, high-precision perception. With a 7 cm minimum depth distance and an ideal 7-50 cm working range, global shutter on both depth and RGB, and 1280x720 depth at up to 90 fps over USB, the D405 is widely used as a wrist and scene camera on manipulation rigs (e.g. Trossen ALOHA / Trossen AI).

The Intel RealSense Depth Camera D405 is a compact stereo depth camera optimized for very close-range work where other RealSense modules (with ~28 cm min-Z) cannot focus. It resolves depth from ~7 cm out to a ~50 cm ideal range, uses a global shutter on both the depth and color paths to eliminate motion blur and rolling-shutter artifacts, and streams 1280x720 depth at up to 90 fps. The color image is derived from the stereo imagers rather than a separate wide-FOV RGB sensor, so depth and RGB share an 87 x 58 degree field of view. Its small 42 x 42 x 23 mm, ~60 g form factor and USB connectivity make it a common choice for robotic pick-and-place, bin picking, industrial inspection, and as the eye-in-hand/scene camera on bimanual teleoperation and imitation-learning rigs.
