The new all-electric Atlas is Boston Dynamics' commercial humanoid, replacing the retired hydraulic research platform. It stands 1.9 m, weighs 90 kg, and has 56 degrees of freedom with fully rotational ('continuous') joints. It offers a 2.3 m reach; instant lift of 50 kg (30 kg sustained, 20 kg one-handed); ~4 hours of battery life (2 hours under heavy lifting) with autonomous self-swap in 3 minutes; tactile fingers and palm plus a 360° camera view; and an IP67 rating for -20 to 40 °C industrial environments. It runs autonomously with fenceless guarding and human detection, and is managed through Boston Dynamics' Orbit fleet platform.
