The SMC MHQ2 lineup (base MHQ2 at bore 6mm; MHQG2 "High Rigidity" at bore 32-40mm, which adds a guide holder; MHQJ2 "With Dust Cover" at bore 10-25mm) is a cross-roller-guide parallel air gripper spanning the same 6-40mm bore range as the later MHZ2 series. The crossed-roller linear bearing gives higher rigidity and side-load/moment capacity than MHZ2's simpler integrated linear guide. All three sub-series ship in double-acting or single-acting (normally open/normally closed) versions, mount solid-state auto switches for end-position sensing, and the MHQJ2 dust-cover variant adds a sealed boot in 3 material options (standard rubber, fluororubber, silicone) for dirty/wet environments. SMC's own webcatalog lists this whole lineup under "discontinued" (catalog slug "MHQ2-old-e"), with MHZ2 named as the direct successor -- it is no longer SMC's current catalog item but remains listed and stocked by SMC distributors (SMC USA, Automation Distribution, SMC Pneumatics) as of this research.
