The MHL2 wide-opening air gripper synchronizes its two fingers with a double-piston, rack-and-pinion mechanism, delivering a large gripping force in a compact body while offering a notably wider stroke range than SMC's standard-stroke gripper lines (MHZ2/MHF2) -- letting one unit handle workpieces across a range of diameters instead of needing a dedicated size per part. Each of the 6 bore sizes (10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40mm) ships in 3 stroke tiers (D/D1/D2, short/medium/long), with a built-in dust-protection scraper on all rod openings, double-end oil-impregnated resin bearings on all shafts, and auto-switch mounting grooves on both sides supporting workpiece-held/released detection. The catalog also lists an MHL2-Z ordering-code variant (e.g. MHL2-16DZ) with the same bore, stroke and force figures as the base line -- treated here as a build option, not a separate family.
