The SMC LEHZJ is the LEHZ electric 2-finger parallel gripper fitted with a sealed dust cover (equivalent to IP50, finger/mechanism portion only) that keeps out machining chips, dust and coolant spatter -- the plain LEHZ has no such protection. A step motor drives a slide screw coupled to a slide cam that opens and closes two fingers guided on a linear guide for alignment, the identical mechanism to LEHZ. The series spans body sizes 10, 16, 20 and 25 (a smaller range than LEHZ's 10-40), each offered in a Basic or Compact (L) motor variant, with stroke 4-14 mm (both sides) and gripping force 3-40 N. The dust cover is offered in chloroprene rubber (standard), fluororubber or silicone rubber. Like LEHZ, the actuator and controller/driver are sold as a matched package -- a separate SMC LEC- or JXC-series controller (step data, programless, pulse-input, or fieldbus direct-input: EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DeviceNet or IO-Link) is required to drive it.
