Overview

Open-RMF (Robotics Middleware Framework) solves the multi-vendor problem in facility robotics: several robot fleets from different manufacturers sharing corridors, doors, lifts and charging stations. Instead of replacing each vendor's fleet manager, Open-RMF federates them through fleet adapters and negotiates traffic schedules between fleets, coordinating shared infrastructure through door/lift supervisors and dispatching tasks across fleets. It is fully open source (Apache-2.0) on ROS 2, with RViz and web dashboards, simulation of entire buildings in Gazebo, and adapter templates (Python/C++) for integrating proprietary fleet APIs. Originated in healthcare deployments in Singapore and is stewarded by Open Robotics/OSRA.
