The RSL420 extends the entry-level RSL410 with switching between 10 field pairs or 10 four-field sets, letting one scanner adapt its protective/warning fields to changing conditions (e.g. different AGV speeds or load states) instead of running a single fixed field. It also supports chaining an upstream safety device (E-stop button, light curtain) into its restart interlock, reducing wiring. This M-range SKU (CU411-RS4 connection unit) covers up to 4.5 m at 270°, with a Sub-D 15-pin cable for machine I/O plus a separate 4-pin D-coded M12 for Ethernet TCP/IP configuration/diagnosis. Like all RSL 400 units it has 0.1° angular resolution, an integrated display and electronic spirit level, and Bluetooth/USB/Ethernet configuration via Sensor Studio.
