The MLC 300 is the Type 2 (lower safety category) companion line to the MLC 500 within Leuze's MLC platform, sharing the same 29 x 35.4 mm aluminum profile, M12 connectors and 150-3000 mm height range but built to EN ISO 13849-1 Category 2 / PL c rather than Category 4 / PLe. This artifact represents the 'standard' function class (MLC320, part-number function code 20) with EDM and RES (start/restart interlock) selectable; it has no integrated blanking or muting (those require the MLC330 extended tier, not modeled here). Suited to lower-risk applications (secondary guarding, non-critical machine access) where Type 2's self-test-on-demand architecture is an acceptable, more economical alternative to Type 4. Rated Type 2 / Category 2 / PL c / SIL 1, IP65, M12 8-pin receiver connector.
