AKAS-II is Fiessler's follow-along optoelectronic finger-protection system for press brakes: a transmitter and receiver mounted to the ram generate a laser-optical safety light grid that tracks the upper tool through the bending stroke, so the operator's hands stay clear of the closing punch without stopping to realign after every tool change. The AKAS-II receiver's fully automatic electromotive support re-positions itself to the new tool height at the press of a button, eliminating manual realignment. The F version integrates the safety control (switching OSSD outputs) directly in the receiver, so it can be wired straight into the press-brake control without an external safety-PLC — unlike the M version, which hands its output to an external safety-PLC (Fiessler's FPSC) or compatible safety relay. It supports flat-bending and box-bending modes and a wavy-material bending mode.
