The SG2 is the Type 2 (lower safety category) companion line to the SG4 within Datalogic's SG platform, sharing the same 32.3 x 36.9 mm profile, IP65 rating and 150-1800 mm height range but built to EN ISO 13849-1 PL c / SIL 1 rather than PLe / SIL3. Unlike the SG4 (which only offers 14/30 mm), the SG2 also extends to 50/90 mm resolutions for arm/presence detection. This artifact represents the EXTENDED (E-C: EDM + coded) 30 mm hand-detection configuration. Suited to lower-risk secondary guarding where Type 2's self-test-on-demand architecture is an acceptable, more economical alternative to Type 4.
