TU Dortmund's central robotics research institute since 1986
Institute for Robotics Research at TU Dortmund, whose stated focus is robotics, automated driving, artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, sensor technology and image processing. A standalone institute housing two chairs — Data Processing Systems, and Control Theory and Systems Engineering — founded in 1986 under NRW's Future Technology Initiative and moved to the North Campus in 1989.
