Non-profit, independent, cross-industry research and development institute affiliated with RWTH Aachen University (An-Institut), registered as an e.V. Organised into two groups: Economic and Social Cybernetics, and Mobile Robotics — the latter working on navigation, localisation, mapping and motion planning for mobile autonomous systems, mobile manipulators, drones and outdoor robots in structured and unstructured environments. Staffed by engineers, business economists, humanities scholars, psychologists and physicists, with an explicit SME focus.
