Franka Robotics GmbH (formerly Franka Emika), based in Munich, Germany, develops torque-controlled, force-sensitive robot arms including the Franka Research 3 (FR3) used widely in robotics and AI research.
The Franka Research 3 (FR3) is a 7-DoF collaborative research arm from Franka Robotics with joint torque sensing on all seven axes, ~855 mm reach, 3 kg payload, and <±0.1 mm repeatability. Engineered and manufactured in Germany, it exposes the Franka Control Interface (FCI) and libfranka for low-latency real-time torque/position control, making it a standard platform for robotics and manipulation research. Two FR3 arms compose the Dual Franka FR3 bimanual platform.
A stationary bimanual research platform composed of two 7-DoF Franka Research 3 (FR3) torque-controlled arms mounted on a shared frame. A recognized robot-learning configuration for force-aware imitation and precise teleoperation, built on Franka's torque sensing, impedance/compliance control, and the Franka Control Interface (FCI).
